Apethorpe Hall lies on the southern edge of Apethorpe, an attractive former estate village, about 6 miles to the north of Oundle, 11 miles west of Peterborough and 9 miles south of Stamford, an historic market town
Peterborough has an excellent railway service to London Kings Cross (approximately 55 minutes). Nearest airports are at East Midlands and Birmingham. There are good sporting facilities in the area with racing at Newmarket, Leicester, Huntingdon and Towcester; golf courses at Oundle, Burghley, and Deene Park; hunting with the Pytchley, Fitzwilliam, Cottesmore and Fernie; fishing on the Grafham and Rutland Waters.
Schools in the area include Oundle, Oakham, Uppingham, Rugby – prep schools at Maidwell Hall, Laxton School, with other schools at Cambridge and Stamford; there is a Church of England primary school in Wood Newton. Main shopping centres are in Peterborough, Stamford, Northampton and Milton Keynes.

From the M1 take the A45; after the A14 interchange at Towcester follow the A605 to Oundle. About two miles after passing Oundle take the left sign to Fotheringhay and Kings Cliffe and follow signs to Kings Cliffe and Apethorpe. When you come into the village of Apethorpe, pass the church on your left and at the end of the street turn left, on the right hand bend, and proceed down Laundry Lane through the gates to the Hall. Follow the drive down to the Hall bear left along the North side of the building and turn right opposite the Stables into the turning circle in front of the East Range and front door portico.
